I won't bore you with details here so I'll tell you it straight; I was an Olympic Torchbearer!

Good, I bet that got your attention. If not then you probably think that I'm just a weird freak who shoots people. Well I don't shoot people, you'll be glad to hear (although I thought I was going to be shot at outside of the Houses of Parliament by guards as you may read on to find out) and so now that I have your attention, I wish to tell you about this book:
If you've ever wondered how some people get so lucky in life then you may want to look no further than this book. Now don't get me wrong, this piece of British teenage writing is not going to be the most gripping novel by Stephen King or the most inexplicably wacky story by Terry Pratchett - I do not own such an imagination, unfortunately. However, what you will be provided with through this book is a unique account of a London 2012 Olympic Torchbearer's experiences (i.e. my experiences) and how I came to be an Olympic Torchbearer, and for this I'm sure the retail price is worth paying. What's more, as well as uncovering the facts about my journey to being an Olympic Torchbearer, all of the proceeds from this book will be going to my school's amazing PE department because I wanted to give something back to the teachers who work in this hectic environment, and so by buying this book, YOU will be helping future generations in sport.
There we go. I hope that this little advert has sold this book to you and I really hope you do now decide to purchase this bundle of pages and read about my journey - from kindling to inferno.
Oh, and one last thing - I'm not the guy who is smiling on the front cover. No, I'm Scott Stockdale, the guy on the back who has a torch in his face.

There are some questions people always ask me - questions which a certain breed of the human population will be able to empathise with. “Oh my goodness, why are you so tall?” is a classic example, as is “How’s the weather up there, Scott?” It’s all very witty stuff, I know, and we tall folk often have to take it with a pinch of salt. However, over the last few months, there have been a few more questions which people have started throwing into the fray – questions which I thought I would never have to answer - questions like: “Hey Scott, how did you get chosen to carry the Olympic torch?” and “When you doing that torch thing, Crouchy?”
Now if you’re starting to think to yourself “what on earth is this guy talking about?” then there are probably a couple of things I should tell you right now before we continue with my story. First of all, for some unknown reason, my school nickname is Crouchy. My guess is that it came about because I’m either rather good at football like England international Peter Crouch (which sadly I’m not), or because someone rather witty with a rather evil mind one day thought “how can we have another little dig at Stockdale’s height? Oh, I know, let’s call him Crouchy…”
I know which one I think it is.

This book has it all. Stories of meeting famous people, great days out and most importantly of all.. great pictures. It has been written as if it was by a professional author who has many top selling novels behind him. I really hope that if you are reading this you decide to buy as it is a good book which will entertain you and make you laugh, and most of all the funds go to a good cause!
The experience of a young adult trying to figure out what they want to do for employment or education can be overwhelming. My book will give them insight to what it means to be a carpenter. And the progress unions have made in discrimination.
