The Serpents and the Persian Boy is Volume 3 of Sion Liscannor's autobiography (Volume 1 comprised Books 1 & 2 - Corax and Nymphus, and was published under the title Another Way of Being. Volume 2 comprises the third book, Miles, and was published under the title Sion Alone). Further books are in preparation.
The Serpents and the Persian Boy continues the story of Sion's life from the end of Sion Alone. Sion is 19 at the start of the book and close to 20 at the end. It records Sion's efforts to contact his priestly father, and his friendship with the Czech art collector and Bronze Age scholar, Harry von Raab.
Themes with which the book is concerned are: the history of Minoan culture, the theory of Minoan matriarchy, and the origins of Greek pederasty. It offers a critical perspective on Feminism and the Gay Liberation movement, and a new reading of the Myth of Narcissus, the Myth of Demeter & Persephone, and the Myth of the Cretan Labyrinth.
