Curiosity overwhelmed her, and she peered inside the large hole. She could barely see past spider-webs that were weaved and undisturbed inside the hole. She got a quick glimpse of a small mattress that lay on the wooden floor. A thick film of dust covered the wooden floor in the small room.
Alice found it difficult to breathe.
Although, she saw nothing, an eerie feeling crept over her. She got the feeling someone was watching her, but who? What? It made her wonder, are we locked out? Or are they locked in?
