But there is one strange soul that wishes to have her at any cost. The local bogeyman, Visahehr Asfet threatens death if Tobin does not hand her over.

He must save Lil, who he found raped and left for dead outside his camp and his mentor Claude from the dire plot or prophecy coming for them.

The absolute horror in Claude's voice echoed in Tobin's mind. But he had to keep focused on Lil. It irked him that while he was trying to check for more internal bleeding, Claude was still running the light over the room.
"Why would he do this?"
"The temple is supposed to be sacred," Tobin said, trying not to shout at him to keep the light still. Then it all started to make sense. "Only those that are worthy... The Osirian temple at Denderah... describing the recreation of the pieces of Osiris found by Isis... Set ripped Osiris into sixteen pieces. L>il said the ritual he used for her was to insult Isis... This is an insult to Osiris...to appease SEt."
HE turned back to Lil, whose gasps for air threatened every last drop of sanity in his mind. Thobin set the medial bag in the way so she wouldn't see the gruesome scene, before he stood up and felt along the blood spattered chamber wall. Books and papyrus' ran through his head for the figures he was seeking in a sea of broken images.
"I am the wife of he who appears in gold, the wife of Ka Nefer..." Tobin was saying it to himself, trying to locate the right passage under the gore. "I am the bolt of the great gate to the dwelling of my lord... C'mon, c'mon...where the bloody hell are you?" There were hundreds of characters on the walls obscured with dried maroon. All he could do was repeat what was running through his head, hoping that he wax looking for would appear in the small circle of light from his lighter.
"I drive off whoever approaches him I am the great uraeus, the terrifying mistress, who repels the unprovided, who repressed the opposition."
Lil's breathing was becoming more rapid every second, while sweat dripped in his eyes, making the figures blur. He wished to just be free of that place- to be in hospital in Cairo, where she could have proper care and they would be safe.
