Borrowed Children is a complex story with heart-stopping moments and intricate characters. The masterful storytelling leaves the reader slightly unsettled with how closely this fictional narrative feels as if it could happen in real life. The intricate relationships in the book push the reader to cheer for a character in one chapter and groan in disappointment and anguish for that same character in the next chapter. This book makes you stop and think about the seemingly insignificant choices in the day to day and the assumptions you make based on the true desires of your heart. It's worth the read!

Awesome book exploring the fallout of every Parents' worst nightmare
Borrowed Children made me stop and think and catch my breath. The harrowing experience that the main characters survived is vividly described, the way their relationships evolved under the strain drove home that everything people see on the surface is not even close to reality. Borrowed Children made me stop and think about how I would act in different situations...and how I would hope to act...and maybe more importantly how I've judged other people by their reactions to different things. In crisis there are few right or wrong ways to react, yet everything is open to judgement. Bowered Children drives home that Media and Social Media merely offers curated glimpses into people lives, the focus can be good or bad. I really enjoyed Borrowed Children, the characters and their interactions stayed with me long after I was finished reading.

If you want to read a story that opens a word window and transports you to the scene then you have found the book! You are right along with Resa from the very start.. Through all the highs and lows, joy and hurt, anger and pride - you feel it all. It's a hard book to put down once you start reading and the characters stay with you long after you close the book.
