Homeless Musician finds employment at Tower Records.
K.D. worked at the famous Tower Records on Sunset Blvd, and this details some of his tribulations there. Not only do you get various stories about celebrities, who came into the store, but the fact K.D. was homeless and living in his van during this time period adds some personal drama to the story as well. It's not lengthy but it's well written and never gets boring. If you are a huge music fan or musician such as myself, or if you enjoy slice of life type stories, I think you should check this one out!"

A Homeless Musician Finds Employment at Tower Records....
Music lovers will appreciate this great brief story "Where Did My Life go? A Towering Experience" authored by K.D. Sanders, who candidly recalled his employment at Tower Records on the Sunset Blvd. Strip While living in Los Angeles Sanders never made enough to rent an apartment, so he lived in his early 1960's Volkswagen Bus. Working at Tower records had an added bonus, many famous celebrities and musicians stopped by to pick up their favorite albums/CD's, and Sanders had many stories to tell about the musicians, the rich and famous; many were nice enough to talk and leave autographs for their music store fans.
In a confessional style Sanders recalled how he not only worked at Tower Records, but survived homelessness for about 3 years. Sanders outlook and attitude was upbeat and encouraging, though he may have had a problem with alcohol. A journalist discovered his situation, and his story was featured in a local newspaper photo essay. While Sander's recalled leaving his band, he seemed to indulge his passion for music at mainly at the store; and was usually right 99% of the time in identifying famous celebrities coming into the store. The last part was sad, with the bankruptcy of Tower Records around 2003, also with another big loss, Sanders had little choice but to change with the times and unexpected circumstances, he is a gifted storyteller. ~ Many thanks to the author for the e-ARC for the purpose of review.
Brings back
A very short read and worth every page. It made me realize how much I still miss Tower Records. Even though I lived in Seattle at the time, I found refuge within its shelves every time I was in the mood to purchase something within the realm of entertainment. I will look forward to his next book,
