This is about a mother who goes above and beyond all she knows to get her daughter back. This heart wrenching book will have you spell bound until the very end.
18 year old Reene's state of mind took her to a fantasy world. Her subconscious took her the the psychiatric ward of the hospital. This true story will bring understanding and hope to any parent who has a child with special needs. It is wrote from the mothers perspective. It is a kind honest account of a mother trying to cut through the confidentiality red tape to help her daughter have a life.
Excerpt
Standing in the doorway watching, my heart sank. There in the far corner of the room sat my daughter, curled up, rocking back and forth. Her monotone voice made me wonder is she was laughing or crying. With her face hidden in her knees, I hear myself say, "Renee, stop being a brat." Shaking my head, I walk away, thinking what can I do?
Memories of my daughter's past behavior had taken over my brain, again.
The insanity hangs over me, as I sit on the edge of my bed, my feet tingling, my heart racing, my head throbbing, as my mind tries to shake the turmoil that was left over from my nightmares.

I purchased this book looking for help, inspiration, understanding, guidance, and even confirmation of my own reactions to individuals with bipolar disorders. As a mother experiencing a quite similar situation, I was inspired to read that I am not alone. Not even with just experiencing the disease, but also the trials of trying to obtain help through the medical and legal professions. I hope that every reader learns the lesson of realizing "we" cannot fix our loved one, we can only assist in the fight. The book was captivating from start to finish and I cannot wait to read future excerpts of the author's experience. The author has a true gift of telling her story so that the reader feels as if they are living the experience
