My mother married at the age of 15 to my stepfather and 7 of my siblings were born. After he passed away, she met my dad, who had 8 kids, and they got married. Within their marriage 2 more kids were born; my brother and I.
Momma always explained to us that no two people are alike, that one person may need more help in some areas than others and we should always go the extra mile to help the one that's less fortunate; whether it be mentally or financially.
The role of motherhood became different for me after my daughter finished high school. Where I was making most of her decisions, now she would be making choices for herself.
I’ve always held a job, but was never satisfied with the amount of pay I received. I’ve worked 32 years for someone else to only receive the smallest retirement.

I enjoyed reading this book!!! I came away from the book inspired by the bond of a "blended" family started by the patriarch and matriarch and how it has continued through the generations to this present day. GREAT JOB, Mildred!!!

Great book!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It inspires all individuals, especially women to face the challenges of life with faith and determination. Many successful people are not born with a "silver spoon" in their mouths but that doesn't prevent them from accomplishing their goals. I look forward to reading Mildred Stallworth's next book and I recommend this book to all mothers, stepmothers, fathers, stepfathers, grandparents, and anyone who needs to be reminded of the love that God has for all of his children.
