accumulates, impacts every organ in the body, causes "leaky gut" which causes inflammation and then causes autoimmune disease.
I have learned that by doing these little exercises through out the day, I send blood to my brain which INCREASES my productivity, and they actually make my mood happy. I made this into a desktop book so that you can keep it close and handy to refer to throughout the day.
• Chronic stress puts your health at risk • Chronic stress leads to leaky gut • Leaky gut leads to chronic disease • Not all stress becomes chronic. Chronic stress is the cumulative effect of a build-up in all areas of life • The key to keeping stress under control is to release it intermittently throughout the day. This book has a series of 2-minute exercises to choose from throughout your day. It is a desktop guide that you can refer to regularly. Doing any one of these exercises will quiet your busy brain, focus on your body, and raise your pulse. These exercises, in turn, will release your stress and increase your productivity. In most cases, these exercises need no equipment. They can be done anytime and anywhere. Incorporate these exercises into your daily routine.Book is by Cheryl Meyer, the author of It Feels Good to Feel Good, Learn to Eliminate Toxins and Reduce Inflammation, and Feel Great Again and her husband John Gins. Cheryl has also written Feeling Good, Living Low Toxin in Community, and Everyday Life. Her husband, John Gins, edited all her books and was a co-author of this book.

Let’s discuss the importance of
releasing stress for your health
first:
Chronic stress impacts the following:
• Heart Disease
• High Blood Pressure
• It breaks down the immune system and makes us
susceptible to infection
• Stress contributes to “leaky gut,” which leads to
inflammation and pain. Stress releases
inflammatory substances that travel through your
body and attack body tissues. Stress causes disease.
• Stress causes muscles to tighten, and contract and
over time creates back and neck pain and
headaches
7
• Stress increases the permeability of the blood-brain
barrier, allowing toxins, viruses, and poisons to flow
through.
• Stress causes increased sugar cravings. Sugar is a
toxin, as addictive as cocaine and which feeds
cancer and causes inflammation. It turns off
Ghrelin, a hormone that regulates appetite.
• Stress messes with your memory and brain
functions.
• Stress causes weight gain and increased belly fat.
• Stress causes digestive issues.
• Stress reduces blood flow to the skin causing skin
disorders (Psoriasis, Eczema, acne)
• Stress impacts mood, causing anxiety and
depression.
• Most chronic illnesses have stress as one of their
core issues. Stress creates “leaky gut,” which is the
root cause of chronic illness, and it wreaks havoc on
all our major organs.
I had to learn to get my stress under control, or I couldn’t
get well. Quoting from my first book.1 “My cortisol levels
were low. Since I wasn’t at ‘disease’ level, Addison’s
disease, then there was nothing to do, according to my
conventional MD.
“My Functional MD ran a test for my DHEA level, which was
completely depleted (DHEA is what the body uses to create
new cortisol), she added a DHEA spray to my daily routine,
increased my selenium, also good for my thyroid, had me
work on my stress with exercise and breathing. The result:
My cortisol is now creeping back into a healthier range.
