Alien race that comes to Earth in search of creating compatible beings that will enable them to preserve their dying race; but leads to the creations secretly helping mankind with all its serious problems.
This novel is the first in a trilogy (The Gnorman Trilogy) that takes real persons from Earth history and weaves them into a science fiction story of aliens that create a race of beings from these people that end up protecting and helping mankind solve its many difficult problems.
This causes the novel and the following two to be made up of snippets of real historical personalities intertwined within a fictional story.
This novel was inspired by Isaac Asimov, my biochemistry professor in medical school. "The Shepherds of Earth" is the second novel already published in the trilogy, and the third is titled "Delivery from Terror" and will be presented to the publisher in another six months.
Excerpt
"Fred," said Amelia anxiously,"where is that damned island? We're very low on fuel and if we don't find it soon we'll have to ditch in the ocean! I just dispatched that message to the Itasca, and the connection was full of static. The radio now seems to have failed as I can't seem to raise them anymore. Do you see anything?"
"Nothing but ocean so far, Amelia," answered Fred. "We do have a lifeboat aboard if we have to ditch, don't we? Wait a moment! What'd that? There's some sort of ship flying up along side of us. A ship llike nothing I have ever seen before! It's very big, Amelia; could it be some sort of new navy rescue ship?"
"I don't know, Fred," answered Amelia. "It doesn't seem to have any wings! But it is a sight for sore eyes to me since we're about to go down; there's zero on the gas gauge! I hope they can pick us out of the sea from that fantastic ship!" As she said this, she saw herself disintegrate in the cockpit, as did Fred; and seconds later they materialized on board the strange vessel.
Ameilia grabbed Fred and gasped, "Fred! What happened to us; where are we?"
They both saw a man and a woman walking across the room to where they were standing under a device in the ceiling of the vessel that was still bathing them with a fading light.
"Who are you?" asked Amelia. "How did you do that to us? Are you some new type of navy rescue ship?"
