Some people cross our path and stay only a few months or hours, others stay with us for years. This is a love story about the people who cross two people's lives as they grow through the years of their life.
CHAPTER ONE:
Their eyes met and there was instant electricity between them. Every cell in Brent’s body felt like it was exploding into a cascade of color and sound. His hands began to tremble and he felt a hollow ache building in the pit of his stomach as he gazed into Mary’s eyes for the very first time. He had never felt such a combination of intense nervousness and raw excitement in his life. It was a strange yet wonderful and exciting sensation.
Mary, on the other hand, felt a soft, warm glow radiate from deep inside her, and through her penetratingly soft, blue eyes, she stared at him. She felt a growing sense of passion that she had never experienced before in her life. It was as if her body was simultaneously on fire with desire and wonder.
They held each other’s gaze for several minutes without exchanging a word. They were both speechless, but their bodies and hearts spoke with all the passion and love that was necessary, as their dreams instantly seemed to take on a life of their own. The possibilities were endless as each, in their own way, thanked God silently for finally bringing them together.
For years fate had carefully merged the paths in their lives for this one final chance to come together in love and devotion. The rest was left in their hands to take action on this instant mutual attraction. If they were to grow in friendship and love that could last the rest of their lives, they would only need to trust in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to find true and lasting love.
Each of them had waited patiently for life to send them the answer to their life-long secret yearning. Through the years, they had withstood the pain of broken dreams, false hopes and unanswered prayers.
Through the disillusionment and despair of failed relationships, and the hurt, sadness and self-doubt they had experienced, each in their own way had quietly been losing any hope of ever finding true and lasting love. Until now, however. They were unaware of the deep- seated eternal desire for love that could never be extinguished. Neither however, gave in to the continued disappointment and cruel tricks that life seemed to tease them with, one relationship after another, year after year.
Now, as they looked into each other’s eyes, they knew. The feeling that all the waiting had not been in vain hit them both instantly.
The thoughts echoed in their minds as they contemplated the answer to their endless prayers. The fear that they would never experience deep devotion and passionate love was replaced by an enduring hope.
The time of waiting was over. The time for faith was here. The time for belief was before them. It was time to act. It was time to learn to be loved and to give love. It was now or never.

Mary and Brent were high school sweethearts.
They were deeply in love and had been dating for four years. During the past few months they had spent hours talking about how much fun it would be attending the same college in Arizona. Mary was going to major in journalism, while Brent was planning on a business focus. They wanted to live together in an apartment, but knew their parents would not go along. Since their parents were contributing half of their living expenses, they decided to wait until their sophomore year to share an apartment together and begin their pre-marriage life.
