Edith Backworth, a Parson's daughter, finds her life completely changes
after the Battle of Waterloo. So many men were lost in this battle that it
threw the process of inheriting titles into disarray. Men who were several
stages back in lines of inheritance suddenly found themselves at the top of
the pile.
Edith's father finds himself in such a situation when he inherits an
earldom. Cousins and family members have their noses out of joint when they
find themselves suddenly below the pecking order of relatives that only a
few days before were miles below them. Many become resentful and some
dangerous in their ambition.
Edith and her father arrive in London and are greeted by Viscount Charles
Whitley. Charles was once engaged to a cousin of Edith's, Chloe. It was a
love match and her untimely death and a wound from Waterloo has left Charles
slightly cynical on marriage and his future.
Edith is unused to the ways of London Society. She is educated and speaks
her mind and is devoted to her father. However Charles is very attractive,
despite his arrogance, and after a riding accident where Edith nurses
Charles back to health, Edith is quite smitten with the Viscount. The
trouble is he is still besotted with his lost love.
Sharon Micenko's story has all the elements of a classic regency romance
with plot twists, mystery and evil cousins. The story is simply wonderful
and I for one found it hard to switch off (remember it's an e book!) as I
always wanted to know more.
The plot is fresh and the characters endearing and interesting. The quality
of writing was such that I have put in my order for an e book reader.
Sharon Micenko is going to become a well known name amongst historical
romance readers. Give A Parson's Daughter a read and you will understand
why!

Not very interesting at all. I expected a lot from the novel after being referred
to read it by my Son. Remind me in the future not to listen to his advice.

you might want to add a bit to your excerpt, and add a chapter
it is hard to get a feel for the book with the shortened excerpt
