Menopause ‒ I’ve been through it – many, many years ago and although mine wasn’t as bad as some of my friends, it was not without consternation. Menopause is the stage of life when the ovaries produce little of the hormones estrogen and progesterone, resulting in changes in our bodies, many which we are not happy about. Men just don’t get what we are going through even though they may be on the receiving end of some of our rage.
The hot flashes are bad enough. If you women reading this haven’t gotten them yet, beware! You need to go out and buy several sets of jammies or nighties be-cause you will wring them out time and time again. You will be changing the sheets as well, putting your sweater on, taking it off then putting it on again. And before the hot flash you may get this feeling of im-pending doom, shortness of breath or panic. Emotions will sit on a roller coaster with fits of frustration being taken out on anyone within reach. This will be inter-spersed with bouts of crying and depression.
Sounds like fun eh? The upside is that our periods will eventually stop giving you some freedom you haven’t experienced since pre-puberty. And, you will save lots of money on cramp pills and sanitary products. But, in the meantime you may have years or even decades of dealing with emotional ups and downs. You will be trying to figure out what has happened to your hor-mones at the same time as your adrenals are being called to action to give you the energy you used to have when your body was not enduring this biological kind of stress.
Things will start to sag as the collagen goes on vaca-tion and your spine starts compressing which will re-duce your tall lanky appearance to that mid-life squat-ty bulge. After all, that skin has to go somewhere when you shrink. Mine settled in my midriff. And my boobs didn’t look perky anymore unless I used a re-ally strong elastic bra. Wrinkles will start looking like craters in a dried up lake bed and your hair may de-fault to grayscale on a color chart. Even if you go to the gym, the hair salon, and have daily facials, you will still be aging underneath and there is no getting around that menopause is the cause. Some of the symptoms that occur with what they call the “change of life” may disappear with time, but the effects of ag-ing nag us until the grim reaper says hello. Keeping your mind sharp and your attitude positive, exercis-ing, taking supplements and eating right are all things that can keep us healthy and active and looking good. But, at some point you will look in the mirror, pull your cheeks up to lift that sagging face, suck in your gut, stand up straight to see if your boobs can get a little lift and realize that menopause did you in!
Is there anything you can do? Sure. You can search the internet and you will find a bazillion products and books and articles that preach the ultimate “cure” for menopause. This is overwhelming. You will eventually pack it in from frustration about how to determine who is telling the truth and what really works. Plus if you listened to all of them you would have an arsenal of supplements requiring you to chug pills all day.
I was one of those research junkies and did have an arsenal of pills to choose from. Although I did stop being extremely cranky and putting him through hell, my husband thought I was nuts. All those pills didn’t seem to eradicate menopause so I went to the next phase.
I tried hormone creams, bio-identical troches, which I discovered were laced with aspartame which can nega-tively affect our brain,, patches, hot flash deterrent herbs and other elixirs. I still had menopause. So I gave it all up!
Then I was introduced to two life-savers. Although it may sound like I am pitching products, but I need to spread the word because these two supplements saved my sanity. These are the two best ways I’ve found, to deal with the symptoms of menopause and post-menopause and to help you stay “young”. If you are like me you cringe at the thought of having to spend each morning sorting out your menopause-fighting re-gime. You might find that starting with just two things may be easier. This book isn’t a major intensive read, but in just an hour or so you can get the information, clinical proof (don’t just take my word for it) and what ancient civilizations and the current Asians use primarily as a women’s tonic for this stage of her life.

My experience with menopause was nothing. I had no symptoms, none, one month had my period and next month to the present -- did not. There would be no other way for me to know I even went through menopause. I read this publication to delve into other products that are available for people for various health issues and see its application and any relief it had given.
This publication was a promotional for velvet deer antler with very little other information as to true clinical trials, etcetera. I would have liked to see other professionals interviewed about this product as to its validity and included in this publication.
If the relief your physician has prescribed is not working for you, this may be an option to research. But research I would certainly do as not sure of the status of this product in the United States.
The publication is easy to read. After finishing this publication I felt I needed more information, preferably from other professionals and people who have used this product before I pursued its use. But this publication is a start if this was something I was looking at using.

Menopause is the thing of soap operas and late night comedy shows, but for us "older women" it is real life. The symptoms vary from lady to lady, but most are pretty similar. I would classify my issues as pretty normal and not too life altering, but I think we all dread the hot flashes and would love to get rid of them. I had high hopes for this book, as the cover indicated, 2 easy solutions for all the symptoms.
I was quite disappointed in the book. It felt like a written "infomercial" for velvet deer anther. There was some clinical information, but mostly from overseas research or vet research. I was not impressed, nor was I ready to purchase the products suggested in the book. Maybe I am not daring enough to try this product harvested and marketed in a foreign county. All that said, if you have not received relief from more conventional treatments, this approach might work for you.
