“You don’t drink whiskey.” Clara grinned.
“I do on special occasions and this here is pretty darn special I’d say.” His attempt at joking lead to another bout of hissing coughs which gave his mouth a darker appearance.
“How about you quit trying to be funny. There’s no need to rush it by-”
“By what? Laughing myself to death. I can’t think of a better way to leave here.”
“You’re right pops. You always did love to joke. I guess you can’t help it.” Clara subtly turned her head and swept the wandering trickle from her jaw line.

I have completed the reading Unjustified Favor and would like to address the series as a whole, having read all three titles. One can almost see her grow along with the characters as the pace quickens from the first novel to the third. The writer does well in carrying a particular style throughout Between the Rage and Grace, Behind the Rage and Unjustified Favor.
Ample room has been left for the story to continue yet without the annoying cliff hangers. I personally envision one minor character in particular who could carry the next title (if there is to be one) on his own.
I thoroughly enjoyed the natural feel and colorful language that Ms. Hill employs in her characters. Seeing she is from Texas USA I would imagine she herself speaks very similar to the females in her books with the exception of the nursemaid Tallulah and the accent of the ancient one while embodied in Madam Latrull.
I perceive Ms. Hill will do well as an author and look forward to her next works.
