Excerpt
We awaken one morning and look over at the prince we’ve married. Low and behold! We are facing an ugly bullfrog. We gaze into the mirror and we have become the distorted frog-mates. A majority of marriages eventually reverse the fairy-tale of kissing the frog and he transforms into a prince. We kiss the prince and he mutates into a frog. Do the frogs kiss and everyone turns into a prince and princess again?
Well something like that. Certainly the next time your husband ungraciously embarrasses you in front of company, you might imagine that he is a frog that has just leaped into the punch bowl. As your guests replenish their drink, they are shocked by the frog sitting on the orange rind. He made a frog of himself. So laugh, instead of him laughing at you. That scenario helps to put his remark, which was out of place, in the proper place.
Our attitudes and imagery control our lives because we react to what we perceive the situation to be. We have to kiss the frog in order to convert him into a prince. Our mates have to kiss the frog to change us into their princess. The fairy tale is as difficult to create as it is to refashion reality. But what choice is left? Misery?
I’m going to kiss my frog. What are you going to do?
