A collection of weekly columns from the 1960s started as family history project for Sue Glasco's children and suddenly became a book. Sue says she is not a funny writer, but the book is about children, and they are funny. Not only entertaining, the book provides an interesting glance at the social history of an era in the last century when many young families moved to suburbia but Sue's family moved to the farm. Sometimes in amazement at the way things were, Sue couldn't resist adding some 2005 comments.

Reviews for "Down on the Farm: One American Family's Dream"
Wow, Sue, this must be an amazing book! It will surely go down in history -- most importantly, your funny family's history. You said children are funny. I think they have a way of making us funny too -- talk about a real gift for a writer!
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
