The thousand year old Sunburst Empire  is in ruins. Muwattillis the Valiant's armies have fled, been slaughtered or scattered.

From north and west barbarian Acheans, Do-Ri, Cimmarians and Kassites prowl mountain villages, trade routes and great cities, vital groves and grain stripped fields, looting, raping and murdering.

And from the south comes the vengeful wings of the boy-king's armies.  Shi-shi will  have his way again at Kadesh, this time decisively.

Attili, Once Valiant prince of Harran, commands the last cohesive unit of the Emperor's forces, a mere band of ten. But among his companions is Shargo the Strong, a strange staunch friend who has shared many a battlefield.

Without hope the Valiant sends his  bravest men to a grisley fate. Yet, Teshub willing, they just might succeed in making peace. They have the courage to do it.

But it is the  negotiators, scribes and storytellers who hold the real authority, the power  of stone-etched history and terrible mythologies - of love and regeneration, prophecy and doom.
