Shanty and Jessie have known each other all their lives. They shared most everything, at least that's what Jessie thought until she learned things about Shanty she never knew. Wanting to be successful, Jessie embarks on a long time dream of her grandfathers,and takes it in another form to th worst part of her home-towns neighboorhood. Being under the watchful eyes of Dustin and Russell, Jessie finds herself up to her throat in "Love Laws".

“Hey, I’m being me no matter what,” Shanty brings back at Jessie. “Richard knows what I’m about. He knows where my head is, no matter how I hang. I think he respects me for my real.”
Jessie agrees. She knows Shanty won’t change for the world, let alone a guy. She herself has a strong will. She’s determined to have all in her dreams, and right now, it includes Dustin. They started to skate off the floor at the end of the song, when Dustin skated up to them, grabbing Shanty and pulling her back out to skate to a real fast song. Shanty screamed from the surprise as Dustin laughed, pulling her fast around the floor. Jessie was shocked at what she had just witnessed. She was frozen in her place on the floor, following them with her eyes.

I really enjoyed Jessie and Crystal in this book. Jessie has a futuristic eye on her community and is driving hard to accomplish what she's set her sights on for it.Crystal who is very agressive,who is liked by many or not, is very out spoken and in her own way holds the group together, keeping them on their toes. She's a hard flirt, but many know she's not to be taken lightly. I'm now wanting to read the next series! I would recommend this read.

Love laws is an exceptional read for teens/young adults getting out into the world after graduation. Jessie the main character is dealt alot when it comes to friendship,love and her dreams, but she never folds from reaching at her goals. I found it encouraging,funny and dramatic. A good read for what teens/young adults deal with in society with peers,love,family and dreams.I'd give it four bright****.
