Chapter 4 - The Secret Family Information Unveiled
With everything I have had to live through in my life I thought nothing could shock me, MAN was I wrong!
I came to find out that I was adopted by Helene Marie Plouffe and Gaston Raymond Emmanuel Jonnah when I was a baby, (this was unofficial of course); I was only a week or two old. Maybe a day or two old, I do not know, I do not remember! I do not think any documents exist for this adoption. I will explain this later in the story. I am in possession of a letter written by my birth mother circa October 10, 1949. The secret letter is in my birth mothers’ hand writing in French. The translation was done by my cousin Natalya and my Uncle Gabby Plouffe, Aunt Françoise Ratel and Aunt Marthe Plouffe confirm the story and information. They indicate that my birth mother was a friend of the family. And that my aunts and mother Helene Jonnah knew my birth mother.
One of the reasons I have not been able to find any documents with the correct information on my father Gaston Jonnah (called Ray or Raymond Jonah in the USA) is because I think both my mother and father were hiding so they would not have to give me back to my birth parents. Helene could not give me up, so her and my father, with me in tow, fled to the United States in 1949. Helene left her family and a good job in Montreal in 1949. She would not speak to or see her family again for thirty-two years.

A review from a reader of my book, "Abducted Alien-A True Story of My Life and United States Immigration."
I think you did an amazing job on the book, don't stop writing. I was indeed captivated by your story. I am sure you could write another book strictly on what it was like in detail trying to break into the male dominated construction trade. I am in awe on your initiative in all the aspects of your professional life. I admire strong work ethic and I don't see it much in the younger generations. I know that when I went to work in a very male dominated industry in the late 80's that I felt like I stepped back in time about 50 years. It was a nightmare that I couldn't wake up from for ten years. The toxic environment of daily harassment and working an 80 hour week took a huge toll on my health. I don't miss it.
I had lunch today with some close friends who had similar feelings about immigration and told them that my views have changed since reading your book. (Which I have highly recommended to many people this week) We all had a great debate and discussion about the current laws and what needs to change and I was quite surprised by the end of the conversation that most of them had the not thought about all the aspects of the law. I will admit, most people, think about the illegal’s coming in from Mexico and that is all that they ever consider when thinking about immigration. There is indeed a lot of hostility in regards to the Hispanic community as a whole. I used that as my basis for the discussion today...as that is what cuts close to home in my state. We have a lot of illegal Mexicans workers here, due to the large amount of farming in Washington. It turned out to be quite the three hour conversation but I think everyone left with a more open mind and food for thought. So your mission will spread one person at a time but it will take root. Most "straight" people find it hard to believe that those "Moral Turpitude" laws still exist. I assured them they do indeed still are used when it suits the governments purpose to do so.

To think this book was born out of an overzealous worker one day...What a journey this writer has to undertake.
This writer's sequential way of presenting her life story was a stroke of brilliance for the readers.
The reader experiences many levels of human emotion and reads of many events that are puzzling until you realize the entirety of the story.
Joanet's honest portrayal of her life and the history of her family is one that certainly not many people can relate to.
The unnerving takeaway from this publication is that this person is not alone in her search for the documentation needed to placate the government and continue with her life.
TRUE STORY. Bella survived an abusive powerbroker father with organized crime ties, a drug-addicted mother and a physically/sexually abusive brother. Shocking & inspirational. When she couldn't cry, she tattooed a crying angel to cry for her.
