If it is broken in half by a scheme of the devil, it will open itself up to acts of darkness that will topple over into deeds of hatred. The greatest commandment that Jesus gave was, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” (Matthew 22:37). If we carve up our hearts piece by piece and render them to other things of affection before God, He will not accept the offering of love we section out to Him.
