Are you mystified at what you see?

When your husband comes home

And you are to be

A person of value, a person of wealth

All internal struggle to cease and desist.

You strive to please him in all that you do.

You bought his favorite lotion wanting him to approve.

Yet he still grumbles and nothing is right.

You washed the bed linens and everything in sight.

But he still feels the need to voice his complaints.

A word of encouragement never comes your way.

You really had hoped all your loving would sway

The hole in his heart that never gets filled.

Only that blank stare looks back from his world

And yet you have faith and try hard again.

A new day will dawn and your heart will too

As you look for that space where he can join you.

Never give up for God carries you on

And gives you that lift and grace to belong

In that heavenly place that always exists.

As the heavens open wide and welcome you there

You gather your hands in praise to the Lord.

He is the one who satisfies your soul.

For there is nothing else that can make you whole.

So don’t look around for a compliment or two

Only God is the one who can bring you through.
