A Christian suspense novel, written to both entertain and uplift the Lord.
Jake was about to have it. This intelligent, handsome young man was destined for greatness, even before he completed his Masters degree in Financial Management; however, like so many others in America, he was forced to take a job driving big. An interview, for the job of his dreams, awaited him in Boston, but to get there, he needed to drive straight through! As promising as Jake's life seemed to be to all who knew and loved him, he carried a dark secret, that no one, including his wife and family could have ever imagined? So when a body is discovered in his reefer, a tragic set of circumstances unravels before him; and this terrifying chain of events will take the reader along on his journey through the horrors of being arrested, imprisoned, and living in fear for his life as he is left to survive in a jail of hardened criminals. “Convoy Murders” has it shares of laughter; and plenty of tears, as the suspense and intrigue grow with each turn of the page, and each new chapter! Jake’s journey along the dark, lonely road of personal mistakes and wrong choices are the direct result of many years of deception in an attempt to keep his private life, secret! This story will take the reader to a place in their heart and mind that no one could have imagined, or seen coming!
Excerpt
Chapter Two - The Rubber Meets the Road...
Jake was quietly rejoicing within himself as he looked up at the signpost signifying that he was now within an hour, maybe two at the
most, from his destination, and if the commuters cooperated and the traffic didn’t totally gridlock in front of him. He’d be in Boston with time to
spare. He was now so close that the sweet taste of victory was on his lips. Driving straight through, from the West coast to the East coast was
something he had never done, and in the back of his mind, he always
felt this feat would be an impossible dream. Just like his truck stop
bootycalls, he’d done something that he promised Jill he’d not do as a truck driver: Driving while sleep deprived. However, like the infidelity, what Jill didn’t know, wouldn’t hurt her.
