It is a genuine “How To” book written by ordinary people with no special skills or qualities, other than an interest in real estate and a burning desire to beat the “great bureaucratic clobbering machine” which too often makes it so hard for the ordinary person to succeed.
By the great bureaucratic clobbering machine we refer to the plethora of government regulations that stifle initiative. We refer to the greedy landlords who impose crippling rents and Draconian lease requirements on business owners. We refer also to the monopolies and duopolies of the huge business empires that crush the struggling little man trying to make a go of it. We refer also to the piratical taxes, such as capital gains tax and stamp duty and government fees and charges we encounter at every turn. Then there is the necessity for licences to do just about anything along with the ability and powers of the tax man and government entities to stick their nose into any and every venture, so that at the end of the day, there is precious little left for the bloke who does all the hard work.
We all accept that life can be hard and very often isn’t fair but doesn’t it seem as though some people make it their life’s work to give you a hard time unnecessarily?
Yep we’ve been there. On countless occasions when we’ve had a bright idea or an invention we have always come up against a brick wall of one form or another. Despite all the determination, ingenuity and effort we could muster, we’ve had to admit defeat after a bitter and exhausting struggle. On one unforgettable and heartbreaking occasion, after working seven days a week, investing all our savings while living, eating and breathing a new business venture, we reached the pinnacle of success, only to have a greedy and jealous landlord destroy our business and our dreams by refusing to transfer the lease to a new owner once we decided to sell.

We know the best part about it is, we can quickly regroup, learn from the experience and know we will make up any losses on the next deal. Through real estate, we’ve gone from square one to prosperity. Unfortunately, we’ve lost some of those gains through taking on business vent ures outside real estate but we won’t do that again.
