Night bolted upright in the bed, sweat beading his brow. Breathing heavily, he grasped at the last vestiges of the dream but could find no clarity. The grandfather clock in the hall below chimed six in the morn. Night swung his legs over the edge of the bed, strode to the window and threw it open. A gentle breeze from the west whispered across his nude body and tangled his hair around his shoulders. Looking out at the beautiful yellow ans orange hues of the rising sun, he drew a deep breath and leaned on the sill. Who was she; and what happens that she beckons me to come to her?

Satine, a psychic daughter of a Scottish Laird, wants nothing more than to marry a good man. Satine was intended for Night's brother, but fate intervened. Can an arranged marriage lead to true love? Ravenwood: Night's Salvation by Laurie Sorensen is a historical romance that explores themes of love, loss, and family. With a good, fastpaced plot line and intriquing characters, Sorensen's debut novel is an entertaining read. Don't let the occational English to American traslation error put you off. (In England biscuits are what Americans call cookies...not good for breakfast. Also, in England what we call biscuits, they call scones.) Sorensen's book rewards the diligent reader with a roller coaster of emotions. Without giving anything away, chapters fourteen and fifteen had this reader sobbing uncontrollably.
