Thank You Lord
I want to thank You Lord for this day You have made,
for many didn’t make it, the price of life they’ve paid,
Thank You for Your grace and Your mercy so great,
always sufficient and on time, never late,
Thank You cause You’re there when I need You every time,
closer to You I want to be, I always want You on my mind,
Thank You for Your presence even when I was unaware,
having problems, going through it, feeling pain, You were there,
You made provisions for me, helped me get through it all,
You removed that mountain that seemed a 1000 feet tall,
helped me to know it was okay, all I needed was faith,
You had the rest under control, not my strength, not my way,
was necessary, because it’s not by might, nor by power,
but by Your Spirit, I want to hear it, when You speak to me this hour,
Thank You for Your glory, words can’t express the situation,
from it I gain a sense of reassurance, liberation,
a great stirring of the Spirit, a command for spiritual change,
ascending to higher level, I never want to be the same,
for change is necessary, it’s a requirement for growth,
Thank You for wisdom and understanding , I need both,
Thank You for the wisdom of those You’ve put in my life,
great examples to go by when I have kids and a wife,
Thank You for being my refuge when I need to get away,
from the ills of this world; at times I need to just pray,
because so much is going on, and I need to renew my strength,
so I thank You for being my peace; I no longer need to vent,
Thank You for being my comfort in the time of trouble,
where my faith is being tested, they try to put me in a bubble,
try to control me through their approval; closed-minded ignorant,
but I choose to only respond to those things that are heaven-sent,
meaning I’m not moved by the things that are said and done,
I’m moved by God’s promises, equipped for problems when they come,
I thank You for loving me despite shortcomings I struggle through,
work on me and work some more, help me learn from issues too,
for I’m not perfect; for I say and do things not pleasing to You,
maybe too harsh with words sometimes, weak in other areas too,
but my desire is improvement, to understand you better,
to know that You’re my rock in rough and stormy weather,
Thank You for this desire, for it drives me everyday,
reminds me that for the Kingdom there’s a price I have to pay,
Thank You for Kingdom thinking, a concept You’ve given me,
embracing the mind of Christ, therefore seeing the way He sees,
making my thoughts, His thoughts, and making my ways His ways,
learning to count it all joy when I experience rainy days,
It’s not what I go through but what I grow through that’s important,
for I’m like a building sitting on a firm foundation; You support it,
I even thank you for my failures, though that might seem strange,
they teach me more than successes do, so it’s not a loss, it’s a gain,
so Lord, help me draw nearer to You, search You out constantly,
learn more about Your secrets, be who You want me to be,
and when the sun sets on this life, and it’s all said and done,
I want to have shown myself approved as an obedient, faithful son.
