A new job opportunity necessitates a move, and while his man and woman negotiate relocation, Toby is temporarily transitioned to the daughter’s home in a busy urban town nearby, where he is rejected and ignored. His dog friend no longer with him, the confused and distressed little cat is picked up and hauled through the Mojave Desert in August, where he suffers terribly in the back of a pickup in a small plastic crate. In Florida with his woman, man and dog friend, Toby does his best to adjust to alien territory and is forced to relearn new hunting techniques. A subsequent move back to southern California is short lived, and he is once again on the road to northern Iowa. With his way of life skewed and totally out of his element, the cat escapes the torment of air conditioning and two small household Yorkies to flee the scene. Thus begins Toby’s own remarkable journey.
