Who would have thought...?
that Mary's precious baby
who was wrapped in swaddling clothes
and laid in a manger
would one day grow and
be revealed as
the Redeemer, a life changer?

Who would have thought...?
that the youngster who would choose
to stay behind & 'do His father's work'
was the Prince of Peace, the Comforter
who would root out darkness
wherever it might lurk?

Who would have thought...?
that He who was born in a barn
and sought to be baptized by John
was the Sacrificial Lamb
the Great I AM
indeed, Gilead's Healing Balm?

That the infant's blood
destined to be shed on Calvary
would stand throughout centuries
and the 'Morning Star’ for all to see
was a guide for you and me
which would lead us home… to eternity
