Writing a book about a profession that is built on confidentiality and compassion is much needed among the many healthcare publications.
The inclusion of 'questions for reflection and discussion' sets this publication apart. The author's insight to provide a vehicle for nurses and the general public to better understand the complexities of a nurse's life is appreciated. Enabling the reader to interact with the nurse in their life helps to further communication and understanding of the difficulties a nurse experiences daily.
References provided throughout Hazel's book underscores the far-reaching information and resources she has to further inform people of the healthcare realities in our world. The many years it must have taken to write this publication, is evident from Page 1.
Hazel's professionalism and unusual life make this an enjoyable read. Also the inclusion of personal events helps the reader better understand and feel connected to what the author is conveying.
This book should be part of every home's private library as well as public-accessed libraries in hospitals. Everyone will visit a nurse in their life or has a nurse in their family and this book will help to understand their life choice of a nurse better.
