God’s Love
Could be the master plan
To this life of questions
Is to know the stilled waters
And, like a child, see the golden truth,
Not covered by excuses or regrets
But grows silently in the heart
As freely as ivy clinging
Filling the spirit
With righteous prose,
Lighting paths that once held darkness
Forgiving others and yourself,
As God’s love forgives all.
The Day Grew Tired
The day grew tired
Lost among empty hopes
And sour dreams,
Never to fade
Growing as questions
forgotten,
Filled with pains rejection,
Dead as notions
Never noted,
Decaying parchment
As bones in graveyards,
Endings calling
Only to remain
As pens empty
of ink,
Resting among life’s
Discarded papers
In mold covered rooms.
Why Is She Crying?
Far from the noisy city
Where she walks wishing and thinking,
Here in the sun-splashed meadow,
Why is she crying?
Here birds sing in jubilation,
Here fragrance envelops senses,
Here soft grasses caress,
To steal away to dream!
Quiet found in nature’s lullaby,
And whisperings among dandelions,
No retreat for the restless
But for gentle souls and dreamers.
Pity those who never feel a meadow’s breath,
Pity those who have no time for flowers
To slowly savor an early spring’s warmth,
For twilight souls do come to rest!
Away on busy streets,
The people are seeking escape,
Here in the shimmering meadow,
Why is she crying?
