This experience causes him to realize he needs Jesus more than ever and he cries out to GOD in surrender -- then finds more than he imagined. GOD heals him, restores him, and moves him to go on a mission to Swaziland in Southern Africa. He meets a kindred spirit online, a published author and high school teacher who goes on missions to Ghana, West Africa annually. Soon, they are engaged and he is ordained as a Minister. The air was cold that March evening. Th ough it was early spring, a
winter-like nip was still in the air. David stepped out of the Wal-Mart,
where he’d been shopping and checked his watch; it was shortly after 9
pm. Scanning the parking lot, he did not see his friend’s vehicle. David
ran his hand through the hair on the back of his head. He’d just have
to walk back home. With a sigh, he shouldered his bag and headed up
Ninth Street, locally known as “Graveyard Road.” Th ough he did not
yet know it, David had a date with destiny.
He walked at an even pace. It was cold enough that he could see his
breath. He shivered and drew his jacket closer around himself. Listening
to his footsteps on the sidewalk, he thought about the track his life
had taken. His mind traveled back in time to when life had been easier.
He remembered when life had been peaceful. Back to the times before
depression and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) gripped his mind,
and psychiatrists fl ooded him with constantly changing medications.
Back to the times before all the self-medicating alcohol and drug abuse
and a self-defeating behavior had levied their attacks on his soul. Times
when he laughed, loved, and had peace in his life. When he’d fi rst
given his life to Jesus Christ and with an unquenchable thirst sought
HIM. David had peace then. His fearless heart did not act with reckless
abandon or without concern for consequence. He wondered if God still
had any use for him; he’d failed God, his family, and himself so many
times. He felt defeated, utterly defeated.

down. I found myself caught up in the story, knowing that Jesus would
somehow win the victory, but wanting to fi nd out how that could possibly
come about.
If you are content to just meander along in a lukewarm Christian life,
don’t bother to read this book. But if you long for a deeper walk with
the Lord, then be challenged by the story and learn the lessons David
draws out from his journey.

David’s story, painful as it is, is very real and all too common. Having
not become a born-again Christian until the age of 33, I could relate to
many aspects of his past. Reading his story helped me to better understand
the environmental infl uences of family and society that shaped
my life. It also gave me clearer insight into those who have served in the
military. But thanks be to God we are not left alone in the fallenness
of our human condition! Fearless Heart is a poignant reminder of the
wonderful saving grace and power of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit
to transform our lives.

Couldn't put it down !!
I could not put this book down, I stayed up all hours of the night reading. I laughed and cried out loud and the tingles of the Holy Spirit were endless. I appreciate the author's honesty, I can vouch for his honesty because I am Jamie his first wife, written about in the book. My portrayal is not a shining resume, but it's the truth. We've all made mistakes and Through Christ we're all forgiven. I can imagine the agony of having to write such things about your past. I think it took a lot of courage for David to put himself out there like he did. Few of us are willing to be so transparent. I heard that some family members were suing him, they should be ashamed of themselves and get a life. I'll pray that they are one day saved from the generational baggage that David describes in this book. It's a story everyone has endured. It helped me to understand the influences in my life. I am very proud of the good life choices David has made through Christ. This is an inspiring and uplifting book. I will encourage friends and family members to buy David's book. I plan on reading it again.
