Happiness Discovered reviews the various philosphies of happiness; the psychology of happiness from Aristippus of Cyrene to Martin Seligman, and the biology of it. Happiness biology leads to a review of psychneuroimmunology (PNI), previously known as behavioral medicine. As a consequence it discusses the mind - body connection, and what we can do to use our mind to positively influence our mental and physical health and wellbeing.
Happiness Discovered is also a sort of self-help book (even though I don't really like this phrase) and it gives the reader a series of exercises and ideas as to how to increase their happiness potential, and even how to turn unhappy individuals into happy ones.
Happiness Discovered is not about angels and fairies, it's not about some kind of mumbo-jumbo; it is about reality and the real world with all its challenges, problems, pitfalls and obstacles.
