This is the tale of two college journalism students who elect to do a  joint project together.  The subject they focus on is the mystery of Victorian Barrington and her wealthy family who seems to disappear from the face of the earth after a violent episode that tore them apart.  This is a woman who was stuck in a house by her tather for her own protection almost a half century before and has never been seen in public.  Writers and journalists from around the world have never been able to penetrate this bizarre mystery until these two young men come along.
