TV Tunes In
During Ryan’s childhood he had numerous pets, but one of the most memorable was a female Boston terrier with the strange name of “TV Dweeb (1997-2012).” Ryan had named her when he was about nine years of age.
BB as she was most often called became the center of attention for the entire family. She loved her human family as much as they loved her.
One day Ryan had to work on a science project for his elementary school and he could not come up with a good project for a grade. Ryan’s mother, Sophia was trying to help him come up with ideas while BB kept trying to interrupt them.
Ryan came up with the idea of using BB to help him to determine what types of dog food were most desirable and why. Sophia and Ryan brought several types of canned dog food, poster board and film for the camera.
The experiment included a sniff test to determine which dog food had the most appealing aroma and a taste test to conclude which had the best flavor. BB was a willing and eager participant.
Photos were taken and conclusions were reached. Now the project needed a name. One day, Ryan’s teacher was tuning in a TV at school to get better reception. Ryan got the idea to title his experiment “TV Tunes In” as the dog’s official name was “TV” and she was tuning in on the best dog food.
Ryan entered his project into the school competition and won a ribbon for his originality. Instead of the dog eating his homework, the dog got him an A.
