Enchanted Desire, published by The Wild Rose Press, tells the story of a beautiful young college student, Shanna, who is looking for a fresh start and a way out of a bad relationship. She meets and falls in love with Kenny, a sexy 6 foot 8 Native American university professor, who himself is embarking upon a spiritual journey and must leave for a while. Kenny gives Shanna the incentive to rely upon her inner strength to leave her neglectful boyfriend, which she does. He also gives her a special gift that allows them to be together even while they are apart. Their spirits and their sexual desire for one another are satisfied with the help of a little imagination…and a magical object.

The place was incredible. Besides the dolls, the shop featured several other Native American knick-knacks. A small, handwritten sign identified the pieces inside one glass case as Sedona Indian Jewelry, which consisted predominantly of turquois and silver rings. Other cases featured Pueblo Pottery and Ceremonial Fans. There were also items called Fetish Sculptures, which were small animals carved from a variety of smooth and polished stones. The dolls, however, were the most striking to me.
“‘Kachina’ is a Hopi term that means a variety of things, but it is most simply defined as ‘sacred’ and means ‘Spirit Father’” Behind me, Kenny’s voice was deep and resonant, but it also had a supple quality. He could have been one of those guys who did commercial voice-over work. In fact, as he spoke about the carvings, I felt like I was watching a documentary.
“There are many types of Kachinas, and each holds different powers and influences. They can refer to spirits, dancers, as well as carved dolls. Kachinas are understood to have human-like relationships and may marry and have children.”
I was most fascinated by the recurring image of a creature with dreadlocks that was bent forward playing some kind of wind instrument. It made me think of a saxophone-playing Bill Clinton early on during his presidency.
“That is Kokopelli,” Kenny said, apparently following my gaze, “a legendary supernatural fertility deity usually depicted as a hunchbacked, dancing flute player and minstrel wearing antlers or horns on his head, which in Native American traditions signifies spiritual power. Of all the Kachinas featured in Hopi ceremonies, Kokopelli is the most famous of all, playing an important role in the rituals related to marriage. Legend has it that everyone in the village would sing and dance throughout the night when they heard Kokopelli play his flute. And the next morning, every maiden in the village would be with child.”
“A regular Don Juan,” I said, laughing uneasily at my own stupid joke.

Shanna has been through some painfully deep experiencs these last three years, feeling like NOT going on the annual family event, she goes anyway and meets Kenny. That is when this story takes you on a journey like no other.
The world is mysterious, supernatural, and seductive. I was intrigued just by the synopsis and teaser. It is a novella, so that was a helpful deciding factor to... Stop. Drop. And. Read!
It is a journey of self discovery that sensually twists while depicting American Indian culture, one's desires, and dreams as the author's easy to follow and picturesque writing style keeps the pages turning.
The characters are well developed, likable, believable, and personable. The inner thoughts made me smile, knowing I can see myself thinking along those same lines.
Kenny is a pretty sweet character in his own right. Tall, Dark, and Breathtaking! Intelligent, Sexy, and Mysterious. I was totally enthralled with his explanations of the American Indian ways of life. Fascinating!
Fast Easy Hot Read
Short, fast easy hot read. Very interesting and unlike the rest. I enjoyed it. I liked the chemistry between the two characters. Really loved the native American heritage of the H and super natural aspects of it. Great writing and loved the characters. Would have enjoyed a longer version more. Guess it just left me wanting more. But still enjoyable read. Unique

Shanna isn't happy in her relationship with David anymore, she also isn't happy when her alarm goes off to go Black Friday shopping with her sister. Courtney and Shanna go into a store a meet Kenny, she realized that she forgot her purchase from the store.
Shanna is beginning to resent David, she is very smart and young. She lost her mother three years ago. She goes to Boston University. Kenny carves dolls teaches at Boston University. Courtney is Shanna's sister, she lives with her dad. David is a State Trooper and he doesn't want to get married.
This book is very well written and the characters are very well developed. I found it very hard to put this book down. I look forward to reading more books by Paul Lonardo.
