This work derives from my various experiences with Roman Catholicism.
I have worked at a Catholic church, I have interacted with various Catholics with regards to theological issues, I have studied Catholic traditions, doctrines, and dogmas and have mused regarding Catholicism within a social context.
Coming from a Jewish background, as I do, I found that there is a lot of commonality in how, in general, Jews view their Jewish identity and how Catholics view theirs.
For instance, for the Jews that which the Rabbinate states goes and for Catholics it is likewise with the Bishopric. Also, both view themselves as being Jewish or Catholic by birth (or by having been made to undergo rituals before they could consciously agree to do so). Both view their respective faith as being more than faiths but being a social identity. Thus, Jews and Catholics view Judaism and Catholicism as being that which their family is. Also, both believe in much that they do due to appealing to traditions.
Within this work, I will draw from my research and experiences and thus, present theological issues which delve into minutia as well as give examples of real life apologetics as examples of what the average person can expect to encounter, in terms of polemics, and how to deal with such issues.
