Excerpt
Mrs. Connely from the local boys and girls home came with a little six year old boy to pick up some of the toys. While she was talking to Carol the boy went into the room where Gaberdeen was playing.
A few minutes later, the screams of the little boy made Carol and Mrs. Connely rush into the room. They got there to find the boy flailing helplessly above Gaberdeen’s head. She had him by the throat and the groin.
“My toys,” Gaberdeen was repeatedly saying.
“Gabby, put him down this instance,” Carol said.
Gaberdeen flung the boy at Mrs. Connely, who was unable to catch him before he hit the floor at her feet.
“You little monster,” Mrs. Connely said as she picked up the bawling little boy.
“Now wait a minute,” Carol said. “How dare you talk to a child like that?”
“That child has evil written all over her,” Mrs. Connely said.
Carol snatched the woman by the arm so hard her Sunday go to meeting hat flew off. She hustled both of them out the door before they knew what happened. Carol turned to find Gaberdeen sucking her thumb and holding Mrs. Connely’s hat. Carol opened the door and threw it like a Frisbee at her.
“I think it’s time you and I have a talk about sharing, Gabby,” Carol said taking her by the hand.
