As a young boy, Richard Mason lived the life of the paperboy, 'Richard' in the novel. His interactions with the people in the small town of Norphlet, Arkansas, and the surrounding woods and swamps, form the basis of his 13-book Richard, the Paperboy series. It was a time of brown, sunburned feet and shirtless summers, when a boy's only entertainment was his imagination.

I've been working on a book of my adventures in Wisconsin and beyond and just ran across this thirteenth book in your series of tales about what it was like growing up in Arkansas that you have labeled fiction, but have used your own name and, apparently, much of your childhood experience for your fictional, and probably real, paperboy.
I have to assume without further information that the "Whale of a Tale" is probably a big lie. But I'm usually wrong.
