DeSantis is just another political hack, disguised as a Harvard graduate.
The Jerk
Ron DeSantis announced his candidacy for president recently. This man should never serve in the Oval office, not even as a janitor.
First off, he was endorsed by Donald Trump, as you know, the worst travesty to hold the office since Nixon, and Nixon was actually doing a pretty good job until he got paranoid about losing the next election. He won in a landslide before being forced to resign. DeSantis welcomed Trump’s endorsement and has never criticized him by name.
DeSantis went to Harvard and Yale and graduated with honors. Both are well-know liberal establishments. He brags about graduating with his conservative flag still flying. Consider the nineteenth century implications. He managed to pass all those classes and pretty much ace all those tests without learning a damn thing.
Once elected governor, DeSantis flunked his first test: keeping Florida safe during the pandemic. He refused to close the beaches. How many people died as a result? He also refused to shut down businesses. How many more people died? He just doesn’t care.
I thought he’d suffer politically when he imported fifty Venezuelans from his pal Greg Abbott and promptly sent them to Martha’s Vineyard, having promised them jobs and a place to live. The only reason they got jobs and places to live was because of the good people at Martha’s Vineyard who agreed to help them. What was DeSantis’s motivation? He wanted to stick it to the libs. It didn’t matter to him that those Venezuelans were people, not political pawns.
Perhaps more worrisome is what DeSantis has been doing to the schools. “Don’t Say Gay” was his first affront to decency. Third graders and younger shouldn’t be allowed to hear the word, or the word “trans” either. Better to deny they exist and put your head in the sand. He also zoned in on black education, disallowing Afro-American history in AP programs. If those kids are in an AP program, they already know about black history. It’s all politics with Ron DeSantis. Under protection of darkness he also limited abortion to six weeks, attacking the most important stalwarts of the democratic party, women. Racist, sexist and homophobic. This is the man who won the Florida governor’s race in a landslide, and now he wants to pollute the presidency with his presence.
He’s not even a good businessman. When Disney condemned his “Don’t Say Gay” decree, Disney stood up for its LBGTQ customers and employees. DeSantis struck back, reneging on Disney’s agreed upon right to govern their own district. Seems like the Supreme Court legislated business’s Freedom of Speech. Not under Ron DeSantis. What did DeSantis get out of this? Disney has cancelled a billion dollar expansion, losing good jobs for Floridians.
You know it only takes like a 100,000 signatures on a petition for a recall election. If Republicans manage to steal another election, a DeSantis minority administration, via the Electoral College, would be Trump II, and we can’t afford that. For God’s sake, just run Liz Cheney who had the courage to condemn Trump and stick to her guns. Click here to post or read comments.
