Hiding in Shadows

Why do so many egregious moments at home and globally rise from the shadows of fear?

Experience carries forever the joy and burden of progress, yet our hubris assumes possession, even as wars identify nightmares and birth so often sets in motion the unrelenting pursuit of unrealistic dreams.  Such is a self-reflection in perpetuity that compels many to recklessly abandon logic and rational behavior, as if mirrors were impervious to cracking or shattering.

Occurrence without imperfection realizes but a moment of fantasy, when time allows eyelids to close, inviting transient respite before inordinate re-awakening.

Man's fear of flames, unaware dread fuels the fire, often leaves but perpetual and unquenchable smoldering coals as residue.  Who among us truly knows the underlying reason some understand unfamiliar perceptions, while others dismiss such depth of comprehension as upsetting the status quo, that the disquietude of everlasting push and pull, ebb and flow of the brightness of light, compels darkness show its face?

Shadows in hiding, our ethereal companion, faithful to a fault, remains anxious to be the playful jester, if only we ease up and allow occasional light to expel the irresolute safety of shadows.

Trying to make sense of the unexplained, the unexpected, often reveals fortuitous rewards.  Such usually becomes moments when the obvious becomes unavoidable, when laughter is rational while sadness often addresses such a change as illogical.  Might there be a simple answer as to why we allow ourselves to be smothered by the everyday darkness of conflict: what you resist persists?
