I’m just writing to tell you I’m proud that Al Green is my congressman. He lives on the east side of Houston and I live in the far west over 20 miles away at a district neatly gerrymandered by Tom Delay, my original congressman, who spent his time partying and getting rich before being convicted, and then pardoned for misuse of funds.
Republicans don’t even run against Green. He reports all his congressional actions promptly to all of us by email. But I don’t recall him ever asking me for money. It’s kind of an insult, isn’t it? He’s always there in a crisis helping the poorest of the poor in the Houston Area. He never forgot where he comes from. Leads peaceful protests and celebrations from that neighborhood often. And if we had a problem in my neighborhood, he would be here for us, too.
Al Green has already entered the articles of impeachment of Donald Trump like he did last time that failed. And he seems to be the only one who is the most courageous and willing to stand up against Plan 2025 that has no clothes along with its instigator and master puppeteer. During his censure, only Democrats joined him in song against what is happening. Will they be censured as well? Not a single Republican seems willing to understand what is happening. The beginning of ethnic cleansing and intolerance that signals the loss of constitutional protection, checks and balances, and equality that our democracy stands for.
We are on the verge of a dictatorship where the rule is simple. Loyalty is demanded. While praise and flattery are heaped on the unfortunate, name calling, lies about the facts, and unreasonable punishment of those who do not fall in line are the slippery path that we are on as a country towards dictatorship with an oligarchy of wealthy behind the scenes pulling the strings.
For those of you have IRAs, we are feeling the sting of all of the rash actions with a drastic short fall in our retirement reserves. Apparently all the big donors were told to sell short so that they can benefit from what they knew was going to happen when they all sold together. It’s a way that the rich have been stealing from the average middle class investor for many years, unchecked. Musk is smiling all the way the bank while his Tesla stock is plummeting. His eye is on all the government contracts he will get without proper oversight. Meanwhile, his SpaceX contracts are headed for cost overruns rather than efficiency.
For those who voted for Donald Trump and Republican senators and congress persons because you didn’t feel like you were well off in the Biden administration. It appears you have stepped from the firing pan into the fire. Right now, all indications in the marketplace seem to be much worse than they ever were during the Biden administration even under the worldwide stress of Covid-19.
Ask yourself, “Am I better off now than I was then?” If you aren’t, I suggest you understand why the people need to be behind impeaching a very dangerous man before you won’t be able to do it anymore and elections will not be allowed to be free anymore and bipartisan. Controlled by poll watchers finding out who is loyal and who is not.
Goodbye land of the free and land of the brave. Hello land of the sniffing loyal money grabbers. Since when did money make anyone happier? There are lots of folks whose basic needs in this country are not even met. And only immigrants doing the lion’s share of the work anymore with most Americans just waiting for their paycheck every Friday.
