Del Garrett's first attempt at writing fiction, a Civil War short story, was published by Louis L’Amour Western Magazine. He recently completed his fourth novel, WHILE THE ANGELS SLEPT, and is working on an epic western he calls TEXAS JUSTICE. His books are available on Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble and Smashwords. He also does editing and ghosting for other writers.

I've always loved to read and got my inspiration to write from a story written by one of my brothers. I figured if he could write, so could I. My favorite authors were Mark Twain, William Faulkner, Mickey Spillane and Richard S. Prather. Later came Louis L'Amour, Elmore Leonard and Ray Bradbury.

WHISPERS IN THE WIND - THE SEARCH FOR JACK THE RIPPER earned a triple star rating from Goodreads. My latest book, SHADOWLIGHT, just now became available. I've just completed the final draft of a new mystery, WHILE THE ANGELS SLEPT.
I am a former president of the Fiction Writers of Central Arkansas(www.fwca.org), former president of the White County Creative Writers group (www.whitecountrycreativewriters.org) and vice president of the Penpoint Writers Group.

Besides writing, I keep fit with martial arts. I hold black belts in four systems and I've been inducted twice into the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame. I was named Jujitsu Instructor of the Year in 2003 and Master of the Year in 2005.
