How I would sneak out of doing the dishes but always get caught!
I was in first grade when the family dishwasher broke and all four of us girls had to do the dishes by HAND! My word, you would have thought the world had stopped or something the way I acted every time I had to help with the dishes!
Every Thursday night, I would have a routine. I would "fake" the "not feeling so good" routine from dinner and then Mom would ALWAYS smile and then let me go and lay down. I was always so HAPPY because I would watch from my bedroom as my other sisters had to do the dishes!
HOWEVER, Mom would get me! She would then say, "Time for Dessert!" And I could not have cake or ice cream because I had to "be sick!" I would sometimes become "suddenly well!" Sometimes Mom would say OK and othertimes she would say NO.
