I have chosen to write about the word, Thermometer, and what it inspires to me to write about!

The word, Thermometer, reminds me of the coldest day here in North Texas that I can remember in my life! I was born in 1970.

I believe it was in 1983 for I was in 8th grade and getting ready to go to High School! It got down to One below Zero! Now, that was pretty darn cold! It was so cold that Mom had to wrap the outside faucets and we brought the plants in. The dogs already slept inside the house. (grin) We had to let the faucets drip at night to keep the pipes from freezing too! Talk about complicated! It was a lot for me at the tender age of Fourteen years! It was HEAVEN taking a NICE, Long, Hot Shower but it never lasted near long enough!

It was fun to play in the snow and slip and slide on the ice. It was even funnier to watch Mom drive on it! She was a pretty good driver on it though. Mom was from Illinois and had been driving on it for a while. Now a days, after having lived in Jefferson City, Missouri, I am used to driving on snow and ice. However, I have been back in North Texas for the past 14 years so I am OUT-OF-PRACTICE!

We do get some snow here in the North Texas area though! (smile) We just got a nasty cold spell here in North Texas this weekend of the 7th, 8th and 9th of November and Winter is DEFINITELY on the way!
