When my son was first born all the nurses thought he was the cutest baby. For real.

At all the clerical and temporary jobs I worked during the 80’s Oil Bust, everyone always commented on his picture at my desk and said he was the cutest little boy they had ever seen.

So when he was three years old and I saw an add for a Mr. Handsome baby contest, I entered him.  He was the cutest child ever born. Really.

 But the proudest moment of the contest for me was after the lady read off the biography, such as, his hobbies were watching He-Man cartoons and riding his bike. She told him to introduce his mother and father so everyone could clap for them.

He pointed to me with a huge grin, almost bigger then his little face and he said, "My Mommy and Daddy is Connie"

The sun burst through me at that point.
