Death rode with me rubbing his hands with glee. A fine mist of unburned jet fuel had drifted over Mannheim Road near the airport. A gentle rain made the resulting mess very slippery.
And then comes a hot-dogger in a Dunkin Donuts van careening madly through traffic. I braked hard and swerved to avoid an accident.
I lost it!
That big trailer came around sweeping traffic out of its way. The innocent motorist along side my rig was pushed into the guard rail and should have been cut in two. The cab of my truck should have been crushed like a piece of tissue paper. This is the usual happening when a semi jack-knifes.
Even though there was no time for even the quickest prayer, all of the worst didn't happen. I am here today as living proof it didn't happen.
GOD does indeed take care of His own.
And death just shrugged his shoulders and sorta wandered away.
