The Third Son is a very good novel, which will be enjoyed by both fans of the genre, and to those who wish to gently explore romance fiction.

Genre: Romance
title: the third son
AUTHOR: T. L. VANCE

When Bryant called to tell Kells that he had invited his fianc้ to live in his place while he was away, Kells had pictured a typical beauty without brains that was his roommate's usual taste. But he was more than pleasantly surprised by what awaited him in the form of the feisty, intelligent, and stunningly beautiful Cydney. He was even more surprised by the overwhelming feelings her began to have for her, and the amount of strength it took to resist the temptation she presented.

"The Third Son" tells the love story of Kellson Berkley, the financially well off third son of an English Duke, and Cydney Nash, former beauty queen and Southern daughter of an American judge. Cydney leaves her American home for England, using her engagement to Kellson's playboy roommate, Bryant, as a means to get away from her father's watchful yet loving eye. When she arrives in London, the disreputable Bryant has gone off on another exploit, and she is left alone in the large townhouse with the handsome and intriguing Kellson. They quickly find they have much in common, including an adventurous spirit and a past filled with scandal and regret. They quickly fall in love, but keep it unconsummated until Cydney's ill-fated engagement is ended by her deceitful fianc้. Despite his lack of love for his once intended, Bryant cannot accept that she could now love his former friend, and seeks out revenge, eventually leading to the discover of his other tragic offenses against Kellson.

T. L Vance has created several alluring and lifelike characters in this novel, the most memorable being the lover's themselves. The story strongly relies on dialogue, which is very well done, without the exaggeration sometimes prevalent in the romance genre. The author takes her time to flesh out the characters, and to develop the love affair that is so essential to the story, without denying the reader some exciting action from the conniving Bryant.

T. L. Vance lives in Memphis with her husband and three year old son.

This is a very good novel, which will be enjoyed by both fans of the genre, and to those who wish to gently explore romance fiction.
