A needed lecture for some authors
The last thing I want to do is lecture published authors, but this is extremely important. Too many of you who've submitted your novels for me to display on my home page have omitted the ISBN numbers, which to me are more important than your title or your name. When the average person wants to purchase a novel through Amazon, Barnes & Noble or any of the brick and mortar chains around, they often forget the exact title of the novel and the correct spelling of the author's name. They have a lot on their minds these days.
But one thing they can't mistake are those numbers. For this reason most readers jot down those numbers to avoid ordering the wrong novel. If they don't have the proper information they'll tell themselves, 'Well, I'll go to that site and get the name of the novel and author again'. But how many do return to your site?
With my first mystery, Unholy Alliance, good thing I always added the ISBN numbers. Doing a search on Amazon brought up at least a dozen novels with the phrase 'Unholy Alliance' in the title. Think about it.
