Why do we need to learn our lessons the hard way? My thoughts about this based on a recent encounter.

I've removed this article for editing. I will repost it shortly. Thanks to those who responded so favourably to my thoughts. It's amazing how the worst experiences in our lives teach us something. If we could only see the flip side, we would not see difficult or challenging situations in a negative light. They are but opportunities to grow.

Thanks to all those who've commented on this article. Kimmy, I did just want to comment on something you said in your review "I was happy to know he learned something about his true being!" I know what you meant by this statement. Your son discovered something about his behaviour that led to his girlfriend leaving but this has nothing to do with his 'true being'. People often behave in contradiction to their true natures. A sensitive person may act tough and a usually loving person may be withdrawn. Most of the time this is as a result of pain. Pain may be a good teacher but it can also be a BAD teacher if the lesson is ignored. It really is up to us to choose to let it be good or positive. Insight provides the way...action forges the path. I hope your son gets in touch with his true nature and adjusts his behaviour and that he takes these into the next relationship. Here's to his happiness! Thanks again for responding.

Chanti~ Thank you for this well written article of the true outcomes of heartaches and pain!
You are so right with this write!
It reminded me of a phone call I received, only two months ago...it was my son, but I didn't recognize his voice...so distraught when he came home from work and the apartment he shared for three years with his "significant other" was empty...now he was empty. I was outraged that she would hurt my son so and I was the one saying..."She is such a so and so...",and he replied..."Mom, I don't blame her!" It was then I realized my son had seen something in himself that most moms don't want to see in their children. I was happy to know he learned something about his true being!
Blessed pen on this one!
Love and Peace~

This is a wonderful human interest article and your views definately speak from the wisdom of experience combined with the passion of a caring soul. Chanti, you and I and most of the writers on the den know from experience about love and pain for we are poets and good poets have a tendency to be more passionate then other people. This article is a good example of that.
