'Yes I Can' by Loretta Scott is a very visceral read. Loretta is a very descriptive writer and her narrative draws you in, making you feel as if you were there with her amongst all her experiences. This account of her journey to the Middle East to serve in the Gulf War, her experiences there, and her return to civilian life, intimately details the journey of the human spirit forever seeking a higher reality as an anchor amongst the chaos that is War and the uncertainties that continuing with civilian life after return can present. Really Spoke to me.

This book is a testiment of how to have faith under extreme circumstances. This Army Nurse is every woman that has to choose and struggle with decisions concerning direction in her life. She's us in that we all have to carefully navigate through our relationships with our children and our spouses. I particularly enjoyed how the author noted her feelings when she was actually in the gulf and how it impacted her life and her faith. I HIGHLY recommend this book.

Wonderful!

This book is one I'd recommend to anyone who has to juggle their career, their relationship and their faith. I enjoyed the candid account the author submitted of her experiences as a gulf war nurse, how she had moments when her faith was challenged, how she dealt with the impact her months away from her family impacted her and how her relationship with God blossomed as she learned to depend more on Him. I can't say enough about how this book of her real life experiences changed how I now look at any military personnel. They truly make a huge sacrifice to ensure our freedom here in the states. BUY THIS BOOK!

A soldiers' story

What an interesting story. I was drawn into the scenes as if I was apart of it. It kept my interest. It was so real. I could identify with the situations and emotions portrayed in the book. It made me want to know what what going to happen next. This was great reading.

I ENJOYED THE BOOK. ITS A MUST READ TO ALL THAT DON'T BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF THE ANOINTING---HE IS REAL, AND SHE TELL TALES AS SHE JOURNEY'S THROUGH ALL OF HER OBSTACLES KNOWING THAT CHRIST WAS RIGHT THERE. A VERY GOOD READ

A GREAT READ FOR ALL WHO WISH TO ENTER THE ARENA OF THE MILITARY ESPECIALLY YOUNG WOMEN. AFTER READING 'YES I CAN' YOU ARE CERTAIN TO HAVE SECOND THOUGHTS, FOR LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD, MILITARY LIFE CAN SURELY BREAK A FAMILY TOGETHERNESS. A SURVIVOR OF THE DESERT STORM SHE HAD ME RELIVE THE HORRORS OF THE WAR AND THE BLESSINGS TO MAKE IT OUT ALIVE. SHE IS COURAGEOUS, SMART, SOMETIMES WITTY BUT DEFINITELY A BELIEVER OF THE UNKNOWN-CHRIST. I WISH HER WELL IN ALL HER ENDEAVORS BECAUSE SHE IS A SOLDIER FIRST! 'HOOAH'!!

If you have never been in the military, this book will prepare you for that step into a new life.

A VERY FORWARD TELL IT LIKE IT WAS, INSPIRATION AND A GREAT READ

This book is great, I enjoyed reading it. She brings you to think and feel things of the past you have gone through. She is courageous and I don't think I would have had the strenght to go through the pain as much as she did, she possesed a quality of bravery and yes she is WOMAN! I am glad she was able to overcome the obstacles she faced and conquer her goals, besides knowing she had the great counselor at her very side. Nice read!

Amazing book to read

Yes I can is amazing book to read, it is uplifting, encouraging, and inspiriational especially for women all over. I was most definitly touch by Ms. Scott dynmatic story about the reality of life’s struggle and how a soldier, a wife, a mother, and a child of God survived, by believing in herself and quietly hearing the inner voice saying “Yes I Can”. Ms. Scott story has uplifed and encouge me to strive for my goals no matter what roadblock my comes way, I can do it. It amazing story You will be touch.

YES I CAN TOUCHED MY HEART IN SO MANY WAYS

Yes I Can is inspiring down to every word. Her story makes you feel like you can move mountains through any type of obstacle. I was touched I couldn't put it down. When you are reading you are right ther with the author you feel her strength and triumph throughout her story. I recommend this to book to be read by many especially in the times we are living. Be prepared to be touched and uplifted.

An Amazing book to read

Yes I can is an uplifting story about an Army Nurse who tells her story about her experiences before, during, and after the Desert Storm. She allows world to take part her experience and turmoils as she tells about the reality of life’s struggle and how a soldier, a wife, a mother, and a child of God survived, by believing in herself and quietly hearing the inner voice saying “Yes I Can”. As an single mother I can relate to some of Mrs. Scott experience, her story has encourage me to keep my head up and I can strive through many struggles life can store. I Thank Mrs. Scott for written an amazing book I look forward in reading more of her books...You will be touch.

IT GIVES YOU STRENGTH TO LIVE.

I was touched by this book. I found it to have so many different emotions, it took me back to my own personal experiences, some of them I want to forget, but it hits home, if you've been there. I am glad she is telling her story, this might awaken the sleepy women of America to 'wake up and smell the coffee' yet she helps/allows us to know that we can do anything we want to, no matter how many times you are knocked down. I believe she wants us to get that if nothing else.
