Thanks for your interest in reading this. . . Should you have any comments or questions, please feel free to write me. This article was written after I examined a few things about my life... I wrote it to me, but thought I would share it. I am not there, but I desire to attain such a reality...

What’s the most important aspect of your life? Most would describe a relationship with someone. A spouse, parent, their child or a precious friend. The evidence of such truth is found in our actions and behaviors. It’s our need to give and receive, to love and be loved. Parents live for their children. Their lives are planned around birthdays, graduations, marriages and of course grandchildren. For some, the most important aspect to living is friendships. That special person that’s there during the good and bad times They’re our confidants, cheerleaders, the pinnacle of our social life.

Relationships are quite overwhelming. Without them, we would feel a loss beyond all comprehension. Let’s admit it, family and friends are the essential keys to most people’s lives. There’s not much we wouldn’t do for those we love. Without them, a lot of people would feel there’s little reason to get up each day.

Corporate research of employee’s phone use, reveals employee’s stay connected to those they love throughout their day. Companies are now starting to examine computer time, looking at personal emails received and sent by employees. Seems like these days, everyone carries a cell phone and a Blackberry. There’s absolutely no denying that life is about our relationships. There are also those that live for their pets, while others live for their possessions, hobbies and career.  It’s amazing how humans value and prioritize what’s important in life.

Therefore, all this said, I am left pondering what kind of attention and devotion Christian places on their relationship with Jesus Christ, especially if He is truly the most important relationship in their life?
What’s the evidence to support such a claim. Surely it would make sense that God would be the first priority in the morning through scripture and prayer. . . Obviously Christians would be desperate to pray and praise Him throughout the day . . . and they’d be looking forward to personal worship, reading the scriptures and praying in the evening. He would be reflected in our actions, communications, service and how we live . . . IF our relationship with God was the most significant relationship in our life, it would supercede all other activities and events. We would be joyfully consumed in our love for God.  The reality of Him would be at least as present in our communication as our reflections about our loved ones.

So Christians, let me ask?

- How often does God enter your thoughts

- How often do you crave, long, and wish you were alone with Him?

- Do you ponder His word, that is, do you read scripture over and over like you would a letter from a loved one?

- Do your friends know about your most important relationship? Do they know that you are full of joy because of God? After all, I’m sure they know how you feel about your family, friends, possessions, career . . .Certainly the answer to that question would reveal His place in your life.

-Every time you tell someone, I’ll pray for you, do you really do it? Really? Such is a promise to them and to God, and it is to be honored.

- Who would your friends say is your most important relationship? Would they really say God? Ask them. . .

- Are you really open to being used by the Holy Spirit, do you pray daily to be used? Do you see the opportunities that are before you? Do you diminish or ignore those opportunities? After all, you’d help a family member or a friend. Just remember, being used by the Holy Spirit is a much higher calling.

- How much time do you spend with your family? Your friends? Most of us would love to have a day to spend with a best friend . . . Do you really spend the Sabbath with God? Remember, He your Father and your Best Friend!

- When you have a problem, who is the first one you go to? A friend, a therapist, or God?

- Are you a consumer of things? If so, are you consuming God’s word, do you memorize it, use it when you’re talking about things. . . After all, we are people of quotes, always reflecting on what other’s say.... How often do you quote the scripture as a natural reflection of who you are?

 - During an emergency, who do you turn to first?

- When you're sad, hurt, angry or depressed . . . Do you go to your family, friends or God. God gives us those people, but never are they to replace our relationship with HIM.

MOST OF ALL, how much are you truly willing to sacrifice for God, realizing it will never be equal to His sacrifice for you?
Remember you are a child of the Most High. You are made in His image. You are called and anointed from on High. You are equipped by the Holy Spirit. You are empowered and crowned with God’s glory. In Him you are Victorious . . .

Does your life really, really reflect that?

Most of us would flunk your insightful, provocative, and introspective examination, Mrs. Craft. However, it is a test we should all strive to pass.
